Mr. Albert Allen IV

On Sunday, December 25, 2022, at UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Albert Allen IV, at the tender young age of 61, left his earthly body and entered into the heavenly realm to receive his heavenly wings.

Albert Allen IV, also known as “Lil Al”, was born on August 7, 1961 to the late Albert Allen III and Mary Atwater Allen in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

At an Early age, Albert began his primary education at ST. Thomas More Catholic School in Chapel Hill and later completed his secondary education at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Albert graduated from Chapel Hill Sr. High School in 1980. Prior to his retirement on October 1, 2019, Albert was employed at The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill as a “Mail Clerk II” at the Mail Services Department.

Albert loved sports and was a “Die Hard” CAROLINA and PITTSBURGH STEELERS Fan.  Albert loved to dance. He loved to sing and he especially loved to be happy. Albert was a loving son, a loving grandson, a loving brother, a loving uncle, a loving nephew, a loving cousin and a loving friend to many. Albert will truly be remembered and dearly missed, especially by his beloved brother, Richie.

Albert Allen IV was preceded in death by his father, Albert Allen III and his mother, Mary Atwater Allen. Albert is survived by his brother, Richie S. Allen; sisters, Ashlee Harris (Devin), Jazzmon Williams (Josai), and Akia Allen; aunts, Lillie Mae Allen, Elaine Washington (Bruce), Roxyette Farrington (Dennis Jr.), Janeria Denise Robinson, Cynthia Riggsbee, Mildred Meachem (Charles), Shirley Atwater, Mattie Hackney, Delores Plummer, Gwen Atwater, Deborah Atwater, Nettie Burnette, Cinderella Riggsbee and Isabella Lane; one uncle, Douglas Atwater(Sharon); many cousins and a host of relatives and dear friends.
