Mr. Christopher Johnson

Mr. Christopher Johnson is the son of John Hobert Johnson and Ida Mae Craig Johnson, who preceded him in death. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Veteran Medical Center, Durham, N.C.

He grew up in Chapel Hill, N.C. and attended school in the Chapel-Hill Carrboro School district. He was a star student and could speak Spanish and French fluently. He had an IQ of a 140. He joined the United States Air Force after graduation of High School during the Vietnam ERA. He joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Chatham County, N.C. at an early age under the leadership of Rev. J.R. Burt. He lived in San Antonio, Texas after leaving the Air Force and returned to Chapel Hill to live in the mid to late "80's". He worked for North Carolina Mutual Insurance Company and went from there to do landscaping and delivery take out until he had a stroke, after which he was then disabled to work. Once he was disabled to work, he moved in with his sister Sandra and her son Michael, who became his caregivers. She took care of him faithfully for over four years until his death, never missing a day at the hospital with him to ensure his care there and to show him love.

He loved children and was a loving father.

He leaves to cherish his memories one son Jansen Johnson and one daughter Zaria Johnson, one brother Johnnie M. Johnson (Brenda), three sisters Gloria Dean Lunsford (Roy), Margaret Lorrine Johnson and Sandra J. Theard. One aunt Martha Craig Terrell, one uncle Robert Craig, several nieces and nephews.
