Clayton B. Weaver passed away suddenly on October 13th, 2022. He was born June 3rd, 1948, in Durham, North Carolina, to the late James A. Weaver and Mable L. Weaver.
Clayton attended Chapel Hill High School and later studied Biology at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He later married Barbara T. Weaver and from this union came Dr. Melanie S. Weaver. Clayton began his career in Television Production and directing at WRDU-TV in Durham in 1969. He produced and directed various events including football, basketball, and coaching shows with NC State and Duke University. In 1976, Clayton relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where he worked at WBAL-TV. While at WBAL, he produced Cerebral Palsy Telethon, Daily Noon and Weekend Newscast, and several shows to include It’s Academic, Heads Up, and Baltimore at 10 Live.
In 1983, Clayton launched his own company WEAVER PRODUCTIONS. His company hosted several mainstream shows that included: The Mark Mosley’s Redskins Review, America’s Black Forum with Julian Bond, “Money Watch”, WHHM-TV in Washington DC, “Gold in SEOUL” and “On Capitol Hill”. Over the next 30 plus years, he continued his production and audio-visual career globally fulfilling contracts in South Africa, Jamaica, Nicaragua and many more.
Clayton leaves to mourn, his wife Barbara T. Weaver, brothers Ronald J. Weaver (Sonya) and James C. Weaver, Sisters Sharon M. Davis (Ollie), and Lillian A. Weaver. His children daughters Latisha Allen, and Dr. Melanie Weaver, sons Richard Weaver and Jahleel Weaver, and grandson Jared Weaver. He left behind a host of other family and friends.
