Ezzard Charles Stroud Jr “Mann” born December 15, 1971, in Chapel Hill, NC.
From a young age Mann showed a strong interest in his love for UNC Tarheels, his Jordan’s, and artistic hobbies that were supported strongly by his late mother Francine. After graduating from Orange High School Class of 1990, Mann found inspiration in the culinary arts and maintained that passion until the end.
Throughout his life, family prevailed as the most important thing for Mann. From playing basketball with his brother and friends in their youth, to being a primary caregiver for his late grandmother Louise McCrimmon in the last years of her life, Mann never failed to prioritize those who were important to him.
Anyone who came to know Mann knew that he was a kind and well-mannered individual. Mann’s children were the pinnacles of his life, and his support of them and love for them was always known.
Mann was not the most outspoken person, but he still lived a life without regrets. Mann worked hard to become the man that he was, working diligently to better himself and to help as many people as he could during his time with us.
On Friday June 10, 2022, Mann was taken from this world. He will forever be missed by those he left behind.
He was preceded in death by his mother Francine Baldwin, father Ezzard Charles Stroud and one son – Ezzard Charles Stroud III “Peanut”.
He is survived by his children, Rachel Chevalier (Kevin), Emmanuel Wood, Jaylen McDonald, Nevaeh Stroud, Allyssa Stroud. One grandchild, Kaine Chevalier-Harris. Two loving sisters Tonjia Williams (Gene), Rena Matthews (Scott), one brother Wesley Joe Baldwin Jr., one half-sister Tamara Parker, and one stepsister Cassandra Jones. He is also survived by his stepfather Wesley Baldwin and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
