Fletcher Harris, son of the late James Vassor and Ellen Ann Harris, was born into this life on December 20, 1952 in Jackson, NC (North Hampton County). Fletcher and his brother grew up under the care of their grandparents.
He graduated from Gumberry Highschool. In his early years of adulthood, he served as a member of the United States Army. After serving his country, he went on to work for UNC and Durham Public Schools for over a decade. Fletcher was a hard-working family man. Later in life, Fletcher became a member and custodian at Neville New Birth Christian Ministries.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 29 years, Lisa Harris. Three children, Camia Collins of Carrboro, NC, David Ellis and Falisha Harris of Mebane, NC. Three grandsons, Akir, Elgin Jr, and Ethan of Carrboro, NC. Three granddaughters, Dialya of Charlotte NC, Kyja and Kyrielle of Mebane, NC. Two brothers, Alexander Harris (Avis) of Cedar Grove, NC and Paul Harris (Yvonne) of Chapel Hill, NC. And a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
