Mr. John Allen Campbell

John Allen Campbell departed this life on Wednesday November 4, 2021 at his home in Coats, NC. Al was born April 4, 1960 at UNC Hospital to the late Jacob and Lillie Campbell. Al attended the Chapel Hill-Carrboro school systems. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, working in his yard, maintaining his pond, and the pool for his grandchildren. He loved entertaining and was a true Handyman. Anytime he was around he was always the life of the party, and he never met a stranger. 

Al was well-known in Johnston County and surrounding areas for helping anyone who needed work done, whether it was yard work or automotive repairs, etc. he was always willing to help. To know him was to love him. His infectious smile, and charming personality will truly be missed. Al absolutely loved the Carolina Tar Heels. His most prized possession was his grandchildren, and he would do anything to spend time with them all and see the smile on their faces. That made it all worth it to him. 

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Lillie Campbell, sister, Sadie Chavis, brothers, Glenn Thompson (Butch) and Ronald Campbell (Ronnie).

He leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Allister Gray (Tamara Gray), Cordarel Campbell (Taquanna Campbell); daughter: LaShaunda Singleton; special friend, Vena Campbell of the home. Brothers: Anthony Campbell (Earl) and James Campbell (Gerald), sisters: Annette Ratliff (Bobby), Darlene Eaton, Deborah Paige (Tony Paige), Jacqueline Farrington (Ricky). His beloved grandchildren: Amari Williams, Kendall Archer, Arihanna Gray, Madison Campbell, Allister Gray Jr, and Cori Campbell, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Also his very special friend: Johnny Blaze.
