Mr. Joseph Bernard “Squeak” Lassiter

Mr. Joseph Bernard “Squeak” Lassiter was born on October 28,1967 at Unc Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.

He departed this life on Sunday September 11,2022 at home. 

He was the son the late Mrs. Mae Ruth Farrar Lassiter and the late Mr. Avon R Lassiter, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mr. Benson Lane Lassiter.

Joseph was educated in the Durham Public School System. Joseph was a member of Holland Chapel AME Zion Church, Apex, NC.

 He was a cook by trade and enjoyed grilling out. He was also a prankster. He enjoyed playing jokes on his family and friends. Joseph enjoyed seeing people smiling and laughing.

Joseph was married to Jacqueline (Jackie) Parrish Lassiter. They were blessed with two children: a daughter, Miss Nadia Parrish Lassiter of Mebane and a son, Mr. DaQuan Lassiter of Chapel Hill, NC. One grandson, Giovanni.

He leaves to also cherish his memory three sisters, Michele Denise Lassiter Cannon (Vernon), Durham, NC, Carol and Rosalind Lassiter, Durham, NC; one brother; Avon Jr. Chapel Hill, NC. His two nieces, Amber O’Neal (Reckoe) Durham, NC, Skylar Lassiter, Las Vegas NV, Four nephews: Andre Lassiter, Chapel Hill, NC, Lane B. Lassiter, Las Vegas, NV, Kevin and Darrius Lassiter, Durham, NC, a host of cousins and friends.
