Joseph Ward Stroud was born November 8th 1967 to Lorenzo Willie Stroud and Annie Carolyn Capers. A lifelong resident of Apex, NC, "JoJo" was educated through the Chatham County School System and graduated from Northwood High School with the Class of 1988 where he excelled at baseball. After graduation, he ultimately began a successful career with University of North Carolina Housekeeping Services as a maintenance technician. He took a great deal of pride in his job and was immensely dedicated to his work for over 20 years.
Outside of his professional affairs, "Jojo" was a humble man of simple pleasures. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending much of his free time in their comforts. He showcased his passions for life through playing cards with his friends on Friday and Saturday nights and watching sports. He showed his love to those around him through his delicious cooking and spent countless hours doing the thing he loved the most, fishing. "JoJo" will be remembered for his kind heart, handsome smile, hearty laugh, and being a devoted NC State Wolfpack fan.
"JoJo" is preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Willie Stroud, and sister, Gwendolyn Fay Page. Joseph is survived by his mother, Annie Capers and stepfather Charles Capers, (Atlanta, GA), children; Joseph Stroud-Rushing (Atlanta, GA) and Paris Rushing (Apex, NC), friend Dorothy Farrell (Durham, NC), and a host of other relatives and friends.
