Mr. Paul Andrew Harris Sr.

Mr. Paul Andrew Harris Sr. was born in Jackson, NC on June 3,1957 to the late Ellen Ann Harris and James Vassor. On March 25, 2023, he gained his wings to eternal life.

Paul and his brothers grew up in the care of their grandparents. He was educated in the North Hampton County School System. In his early years of adulthood, Paul was employed by the City of Durham and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Paul married Janice Martin, and through this union they had 3 kids, Paul Jr., Darius, and Janica. Years later he met his life partner, Yvonne, and through this love they had 1 daughter, Paala.

Paul enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to barbeque, and you couldn't tell him nothing when it came to his, "famous cole slaw." Fishing and driving were a couple of his favorite things to do. Paul loved his family and had a, "Heart of Gold," that would help any and everybody who was in need.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Fletcher Harris.

He leaves to forever cherish his memories: the love of his life, Yvonne Degraffenreid; two sons, Paul (Sharkari) Harris Jr. and Darius (Christion) Harris; two daughters, Janica Harris and Paala Degraffenreid; six grandchildren, Makhenzi, Nariah, Denver, Airren, Jasiah and Ryan; one brother, Alexander (Avis) Harris; Sister-in-Law, Lisa Harris; two special God Children, Jalis Rone and AJ ("Head," as he called him) Collins, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
