Mr. Raymond Edwards Jr.

Raymond Edwards Jr. was born December 22, 1961, to parents Raymond and Ruth Edwards, in Chapel Hill, NC.

Raymond Jr. was the 2nd eldest of four children. He attended Chapel Hill Carrboro City schools and worked at Johnson Stroud and Ward Furniture Co. for nearly 17 years. He also worked as a truck driver.

Raymond was truly a jack of all trades. He enjoyed working on his family and friends’ cars. Raymond would be best described as a gentle giant, with an equally as big heart to match. Raymond loved his family and adored all children. Raymond would make every family event an enjoyable one whether it was through a funny story or a quick little dance step. His infectious laugh and smile and ability to make everyone feel like family was truly cherished and will be deeply missed. Raymond battled Stage 4 Kidney failure his last years on earth and even during that time he never allowed his illness to stop him from being able to support and help his family and friends. His love and spirit left an everlasting impression on the hearts of those who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Ruth Edwards, Son Stacey Lee Mayfield (Jackie), sister Wanda Edwards Rone (Kenneth) and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
