Thomas Earl Davis of Siler City, North Carolina, passed after a short illness on December 18, 2022 at the Laurels in Pittsboro, North Carolina. Thomas was born on January 22, 1949 in Chapel Hill, NC to the late Willie and Lucy Davis.
Thomas attended Lincoln High School and afterward was employed at UNC Chapel Hill. He then went on to work for Chapel Hill Surgical Center until his retirement.
Thomas was the proud father of five children and the husband to the love of his life Lula Vanhook Davis. They were married for 38 years. Thomas was a great husband, great dad, great grandfather and great friend. In retirement Thomas enjoyed camping at Jordan Lake, maintaining his lawn on his riding lawnmower, shopping at Walmart 2 to 3 times a day many times coming home with nothing and eating Smithfield chicken and BBQ. He proudly attended football games, basketball games and track meets watching his grandchildren excel. Those were some of his most joyous times!
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Lucy Davis and his great grand-daughter, Kinazia Newman.
Thomas leaves many to cherish and celebrate his memory: his devoted and loving wife, Lula Vanhook Davis, sons: Rodney Feaster (Takenya) and Chadwick Horton. Daughters: Sharon Rodriguez (Ricardo), Tina Joyner and Gina Smith (Andrew). Six grandchildren: Tameka, Zayah, Tomarius, Tatyana, Adrian and Olivia and six great grand children. Also surviving are brothers Robert Davis, Nathaniel Davis (Peggy), Oliver Davis (Sharon), Edward Davis, Kenneth Davis (Truphenia); sisters Willie Mae Davis, Carolyn Davis-Holman (Samuel), Patricia Davis Mangum (Darryl) and Helen Davis Green. Sisters' in-law Nolie Council and Paulette Daniels and Brother in law James Vanhook. A host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will hold Thomas' memory dear. As an angel himself, Thomas is no longer bound by time and will live on in our hearts always.
