Mr. Vernon Zachary Mitchell

Vernon was born and raised in Chapel Hill, NC. Preceding him in death is his father, Bruce Mitchell, Jr., brother Steven Lewis Mitchell and sister VaSheila Faye Mitchell.

He attended school in the Chapel Hill School System, graduating from Chapel Hill Senior High. A few years after graduation, Vernon and a friend joined a world travel circus. He got to travel to New Orleans to assist with Hurricane Katrina. After returning home, he worked in different jobs in and around Chapel Hill.

Vernon was a happy, spirited person. Because of his personality, he made a lot of friends. A lot of people will surely miss him.

After learning about his sickness, Vernon drew nearer unto God. He started praying and talking with God more each day. God gave Vernon the time to pack his spiritual bags. Once packed and ready, God took him to his Heavenly home. 

Vernon leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Raven Jenkins of Durham, NC; his mother, Mary Mitchell of Clayton, NC; one sister, VaSharon Mitchell of Clayton, NC; two brothers, Bruce Mitchell of Durham, NC, Joseph Lassiter of Hillsborough, NC, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
