Mr. Willie Harold Hamlett “Amos”, the son of the late Hal Bean and Mary Jackson Hamlett, was born in Person County, North Carolina on May 12, 1961. Willie Harold Hamlett departed this life Saturday, March 26, 2022, in Minnesota after a short illness.
His formal education was received through the Chapel Hill, N.C. School System.
He was employed by Q Carrier as a truck driver.
His memory will forever linger in the hearts and minds of his daughter: Keyuna Icena Hamlett of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; son: Derrick Hamlett of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren: I’Ceauna Rogers, Aviana Rogers and Quayshawn Rogers of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; two sisters: Carolyn Hamlett of Oxford, N.C., Peggy Hamlett of Greensboro, N.C.; brother: Junious Hamlett(Walida) of Oxford, N.C.; two sister in laws: Linda Williams and Mattie Williams of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; brother in law: Jerome Williams of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; great aunt: Christine Hayes of New York; three aunts: Odelia Purefoy of Durham, N.C., Lillie Morton of Durham, N.C., Linda Henry of Clarksville, T.N.; two uncles: Gaither Jackson Jr. of Durham, N.C., James Lewis Jackson of Salisbury, N.C.; And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two special friends: Eddie Johnson and William Baker.
In addition to his parents, he has now been rejoined with his wife, Jacqueline Williams Hamlett.
