Ms. Allie Vivian Perry Baker was born on April 24, 1920 in Chatham County to the late Mary Cotten and Minter Perry. She was called home on October 26, 2021.
She joined Hamlet Chapel CME Church at an early age. She was active and served on the Usher Board until she later married William Baker. She moved to Apex and was under Watch Care at Felton Grove Baptist, Apex, NC. They were married for 28 years. After his death, Allie moved back home and continued her membership at Hamlet Chapel CME Church.
Allie received her education at Buck Mountain School and later attended Horton High School, Pittsboro, N.C.
Her hobbies are gardening, sewing, cooking and baking. Her specialty to many is her Squash Custard Pie and Lemon Cake. Her favorite song is “I’ll Fly Away”.
Her husband, William Baker; three sons, Jimmy, Orglan, and Willard (Hamp); two Sisters, Mary Marie Perry Penny and Laura Perry Pendergraft; one son-In-Law, Roy Dixon, all preceded her in death.
To fondly cherish her memories are one daughter, Vivian Perry Dixon; one son, Charles Perry (Emma) of Pittsboro; Grandchildren, Henry Perry of Winston Salem, NC, Robin Alston, Tina M. Perry, Jimmy Derrick Perry (Sherri), Chris Alston, Orglan Perry Jr., Maurice Perry of Atlanta, Georgia, Kim Dixon Foushee(Montay), Tameika Perry of Durham, NC and Travis Harris(Kia) of Creedmoor, N.C.; 13 Great Grandchildren; 12 Great-Great Grandchildren; daughter-in-laws, Hazel Perry and Reverend Delores Perry; 4 step daughters, 3 step sons, 4 sister-in-laws; 2 brother-in laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
