Mrs. Bernice Carolyn (Johnson) Lee

Our Most Gracious Heavenly Father and His Infinite Wisdom, returned for one of His own, Mrs. Bernice C. Lee. God sent an angel to rescue Bernice. She departed her walk of life at the Strafford Assistant Living Facility in Chapel Hill, NC on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

Bernice was the daughter of the late William Lonnie Johnson and Sula Warren Johnson. Bernice was born on January 31, 1935 in Orange County, North Carolina.

Bernice graduated from Lincoln High School in Chapel Hill,NC.  Upon graduation she moved to New York where she anticipated a different life style. She later returned to Chapel Hill, where she met the love of her life, Vincent Jahue Lee (Jake). They were married on July 8, 1961.

Bernice retired from Tri Delta Sorority House in Chapel Hill after 40 years of dedicated services. Bernice loved her girls.  She would always reference something concerning her “girls” as she so graciously called them.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother and her sister (Ethel).

She leaves to cherish her loving memories a host of nieces, nephews, loving neighbors, high school friends, and her Tri Delta girls.
