Mrs. Jean Elizabeth (Mason) Taylor

Jean Elizabeth Taylor of Chapel Hill, NC passed away peacefully on February 26, 2022. She was the daughter of John E. Mason, Sr. and Mary Clark Mason. Her parents along with two of her siblings - Delores Mason and a brother -John E. Mason, Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Prince E. Taylor, Sr., her sister Maxine M. Huggins (Durham, NC) and her brother, Charles Mason (Washington, DC) and her children, Michele Wilburn, Rodney Taylor, Sr., Prince Taylor, Jr., Michael Taylor, and Andre Taylor, Sr. 8 Grandchildren - Kristin Duncan, Brandy Taylor, Rodney Taylor, Jr., Melissa Taylor, Robert Wilburn, Jr., Trinity Taylor, Andre Taylor, Jr., Edward Taylor, 1 nephew -John Mason, Jr.; 1 niece -Keia Pannell, 2 great-grandchildren Phoenix Taylor-Rone and Rylee Wilburn.

Jean Taylor was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on October 19, 1985. She was a member of the Carrboro Congregation. She enjoyed her field service ministry, participating in the Friday morning telephone witnessing, and was an encouragement to all but especially the younger women in the congregation. She attended Orange County Training School and Lincoln High School. She was a teacher at Holmes Day Nursey and worked as a receptionist for many years at the Orange Chatham Comprehensive Health Center. She later cared for individuals as a home healthcare specialist.

The entire Taylor and Mason families would like to sincerely thank everyone for their prayers, love and support and their kind expressions of sympathy with cards, flowers, phone calls, text messages, and meals for the family. We would also like to thank Jones Funeral Home and UNC Healthcare for their cooperation in the care of our loved one.

A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Jean Mason Taylor via ZOOM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2pm.
