A Time to be Born

Ms. Leola Blanche (Cotton) Poole, daughter of the Late Jack Cotton and Tully Mae (Norwood) Cotton was born and raised in Pittsboro, NC on May 8, 1921. She moved to Chapel Hill, NC at the age of 9 where she resided and lived her promised years in Chapel Hill, NC.

A Time to Mother her Flock

She was married at 18 years old to the Late George Roberts Poole and during this union she was blessed with 5 beautiful Daughters.

A Time to Serve

Leola confessed Christ at an early age and attended various church services while serving at Hamlett Chapel CME with her family. During her adult life she attended Faith Tabernacle Oasis of Love.

A Time to be Educated

Leola was educated in Chatham County Public Schools, Pittsboro NC.

A Time to Work

She made her living as a home care provider as an In home Caregiver for 55 years. Her greatest work asset to family and friends was her cooking and gardening.

A Time to Know Her

Mrs. Leola was a loving, caring and kind-hearted person that touched many hearts. She was full of wisdom and determination. Her caring and giving for those she came in contact with always left everlasting impressions. She showed love and affection to everyone especially young children; and was a role model and the sustaining force in her children and grandchildren and many others.

A Time to Go On

January 31, 2023, sleeping peacefully in her loving home, she moved to her heavenly home when God called his servant from labor to reward. "Her Lord said unto her, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord." Matthew 25:21

Obituary Life of Love Lived

Leola's pathway to Heaven was paved by Late Husband George Poole and her 1st born, daughter Patricia Ann "Jessie Ruth" Poole-Holeman. During her lifetime she shared many sorrows living through the deaths of her siblings; George Cotton, Junious Cotton, Jackson Cotton, Clarence Cotton, Charlie "Punke" Cotton, Nathaniel Cotton, Garland Cotton, Joseph Cotton, Sylvia Cotton, Nettie Cotton, Odessa Cotton, Garnett Cotton as well as some of her Grandchildren; the late Corinthian Poole, James Holeman, Mike Holeman, Jyireh Holeman, Demario Poole, and Amanda Poole.

She is survived by her 4 daughters; Joyce Poole of Chapel Hill NC, Jeanie Stroud of Chapel Hill NC, Jackie Poole of Chapel Hill NC, Tamie (Marc) Holman of Durham NC.

She leaves to cherish her memories with her surviving Nieces and Nephew; Nettie Cotton of Durham NC, Shirley Edwards and Josie Edwards of Carrboro NC, and James Cotton of Raleigh NC.

And Grandchildren; Charlene Knotts of Durham NC, Carl Poole of Carrboro NC, Charles Poole of Durham NC, Vanessa Holeman of Charlotte NC, Janice Holeman of Durham NC, Jeanie Holeman of Durham NC, Barry Holeman of Durham NC, Lajuan Holeman of Durham NC, Shani Holeman of Durham NC, Sheunequa Poole of Chapel Hill NC, Felton Fearrington of Chapel Hill NC, Shekita Crisp of Chapel Hill NC, Aquate Brooks of Charlotte NC, Jamyan Brooks of Chapel Hill NC, Raneisha Farrington of Charlotte NC, Rajene' Farrington of Durham NC, Raziyah Farrington of Durham NC and her legacy will continue through her host of Great-Grandchildren, Great- Great Grandchildren and Great- Great-Great Grandchildren and so many more.
