Linda G. Chapman was the daughter of the late Thomas and Inez Williams. She was born in January 1956 in South Carolina. She passed peacefully on April 21, 2022 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Linda refused to allow her light to hide under a bushel. she was a force to be reckoned with. She was independent, knowledgeable and outspoken.
Linda grew up in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Bay Ridge High School in 1973. She received her Bachelor's degree in Social Welfare from Central State University in Wilberforce Ohio.
After graduation she married her college sweetheart who later joined the Air Force and they traveled the world. Wherever he was stationed she always found a way to make use of her skills there.
When she returned to the United States she held various positions within banking, sales, customer service and several nonprofit organizations.
Linda was also featured in several newspapers, including the Rocky Mount Telegram (N.C.) where she shared her struggles and how she is helping others to combat the illness and stigma of HIV.
Linda leaves to cherish her memories her sisters Deborah Williams and Diane Wilson (daughters Laneice, Marissa and Macheka). Brothers Ray Martin (Diane), Lorenzo Williams, Geoffrey Williams (Tanya) and Eric Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
