Pamela Gail Bell Torain was born on February 23, 1968 to Ed Bell, Deborah Bell Jarratt at the Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, PA,. On July 25, 2022, Pamela passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Pamela was raised by her stepfather and mother, William Thomas and Deborah Jarratt, and lived for a time in New Jersey, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
Pamela was always a bright, happy child with a contagious smile and was a genuine, thoughtful, and kind person. Pamela was a multi-talented woman, excelling in art, photography, teaching children, cooking, gardening and serving in church.
While attending Howell High School in Howell, NJ, Pamela’s artistic talent was recognized in middle and high school where she received honors, winning 1st place for designing the cover art for the “New Jersey Campaign Against Drunk Driving”, from the New Jersey Police Department. She also won the distinction of having one of her designs chosen to grace the cover of her school yearbook.
Pamela earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, from the Mason Gross School of Art, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. She worked as an Online ESL Teacher, Durham's Partnership for Children, Infant Photographer, Public Information Director, College Marketing Rep and Public Information Specialist at Durham County Government.
In 2004, during a phone conversation, initiated by Pamela’s sister, Marquise Jarratt Williams, she met her future husband, Jermaine Lamont Torain. After a brief courtship the two were married, July 4, 2004 in Four Oaks, NC. From this union was born a son, Caleb Willam Torain and daughter Zoë Malinda Torain. Jermaine and Pamela celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary this year, 2022.
In 2019 Jermaine and Pamela appeared on a television program, Strange World, episode 8, discussing their spiritual battles and marriage. Pamela was an avid Home Schooler of her 2 youngest children. She spent many hours at Libraries creating experiences to immerse them in high and vast levels of educational content.
“Squishmallows” were one of Pamela’s passions, she enjoyed hunting for them, trading and collecting Squishmallows, everywhere she went.
Her love of Photography was also a lifelong endeavor, Pamela was always taking amazing photos.
As an avid supporter and cheerleader of “Breaking Curses 101” deliverance ministry, she took photos for the ministry whenever she could.
From the time she learned spiritual warfare, her quality of life improved and took her faith, her health and her family to new levels.
Pamela began to pursue holistic healing as a commitment. She was a facilitator for the “North Carolina Lupus Foundation”, Orange County Branch. Holding functions, meetings and events where people could share their experiences and challenges while seeking medical treatment and seeking holistic treatments for people who have autoimmune diseases.
Pamela recently took a trip to California with her eldest Daughter Gabby and her grandchildren Landon and Marlei. They had a wonderful time at Disneyland and other attractions. Spending time with her Children and Grandchildren were some of her most joyous times.
Pamela dreamed of developing a Sustainable Lifestyle for her family.
She enjoyed RV living with her family.
She loved shopping for home goods and selling them online.
Pamela leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Jermaine Lamont Torain, daughter Gabrielle Rodriguez Hamlett, step-daughter Virtue Torain, son Caleb William Torain, daughter Zoë Melinda Torain, grandson Landon Hamlett, granddaughter Marlei Hamlett. Father Ed Bell (Donna). Mother Deborah Jarratt, step-father William Thomas Jarratt, step-sister Marquise Jarratt Williams (Richard III), nephew John Jarratt. Brother Bennett Torain and Sister-In-Law Senora Torain, nephew Malcolm, nieces Sophia, Brooke and Anita, Sister-In-Law, Jamonica Torain, niece Lavae Hylton. Extraordinary Friend/“Auntie” to Torain children Gail Rabon. Gabrielle’s father José Rodriguez, Uncle Thomas and Aunt Margaret Rooker, Uncle Ken Rooker, cousins Isaac Rooker, Miriam, Aaliyah, Jacob Torres, Pamela and Paula Phelps, Carmen and Allayna Sessions. Aunts Fredericka Phelps, Jocelyn, Shelia, Uncle John, cousins Johneen and Mel Jarratt, and a host of other friends and relations.
