Mrs. Rosa Marie (Baldwin) Laney

Deaconess Rosa Marie Laney was born on February 19, 1950, in Chatham County, NC. She departed this life on Saturday November 13, 2021, at Spring Arbor of Apex Senior Living.

Deaconess Rosa graduated from Horton High School in Chatham County. She joined Haw River Baptist Church at an early age where she was very active and became a member of the Deaconess Ministry.  Deaconess Rosa retired from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after more than 20 years of service.

Deaconess Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Joseph Lee Laney, parents Earnest Morphis and Minister Marie Baldwin, Grandmother Willie F. Moore Morphis and one sister Patricia Foushee.

Deaconess Rosa is survived by her loving son Shannon Laney of Apex and daughter Christel Laney of Charlotte, daughter-in-law Rosina Laney of Apex, two grandsons Seth Laney and Sean Laney of Apex, Aunt Mary Baldwin of Chapel Hill and two brothers Jerry McNair (Jessie) and David Foushee all of Greensboro and a host of relatives and friends.
