Ms. Laverne Lassiter

Our Beloved, Laverne Lassiter, Daughter of the late Ned “N.H.” Lassiter and Ernestine Lassiter, went home to Christ on November 1st, 2021. She was born in Orange County, NC on February 14, 1954, “Valentines Day,” the day of Love. She grew up in Apex North Carolina. She  was employed at ABC Cab Company in Durham NC for 20+ years. Lavern is a Member of Russell Memorial CME Church and a member of the usher board.

Laverne leaves to cherish her memory her children: Lakisha Lassiter and George Lassiter. Her grandchildren: Starlisa “Star” Lassiter, Antonio Lassiter, Amir Lassiter, and Lucas Hines, in addition to, her great granddaughter Armani Lassiter. She was loved and adored by her God-children: Meagan Jones, Madison Jones, Mackenzie Jones, Javeyon Brodie, Julian Leathers, and Messiah Leathers. 

She is also survived by her siblings: Terry Lassiter, Dwight Lassiter, Annette Lassiter, and Carl “Mike” Welch. Her Aunts and Uncles: Lonnie Davis, Margaret McNeil (Donald), Helen Cooper (Willie).

She was preceded in death by: her beloved daughter, Tarlisa “Fatty” Lassiter, and her siblings: Gerald “sister” Lassiter, Derald “brother” Lassiter, and Malcom “Pete” Lassiter.
