Ms. Lisa Diane Hopson

Lisa Diane Hopson was born June 24, 1968 in Durham County, NC to the late Jesse Hopson and Lillian Sheridan Hopson. Lisa’s Great-Grandparents the late Jesse and Cammie Hopson were two of the founding members of Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Hopson passed away peacefully into the Lord’s Kingdom on May 16, 2022.

Lisa Hopson graduated from Chapel Hill Senior High School. After high graduation, she moved to Greensboro, NC to attend North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Lisa was a nurse for over 27 years. She was employed as a nephrology nurse for over 16 years. Lisa moved back to Chapel Hill in 2007 to care for her father.

Lisa Diane Hopson is preceded in death by her mother and father, Jesse and Lillian Hopson. Uncle- Wallace Hopson, and Aunts- Susie, Ethel, Lilly, Pearl and Ellen Hopson.

Lisa was compassionate, dedicated, and committed to her patients as well as her team. She was a member of Chi Eta Phi, Inc. We will miss her laughter, her smile, her raised eyebrow if she didn’t approve, and her love of SHOES!!

Leaving to cherish her memories are a host of relatives and friends. Special friends: Anneka Perry, Patricia Stephens (Hodges), P. Sabrina Hamm, Zoe Davison, and her “Foster Family” in Bluefield, WV. Additional friends- Beverly Berryman and Cathy Seafus.
