Ms. Prudence Mavis Chambers

Prudence Mavis Chambers affectionately known as “Prudy” was born on February 19, 1956 in Orange County. She is the daughter of the late Samuel Head Chambers Sr. and Nellie Alford Chambers, longtime residents of South Boston, Virginia. She passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at The Stratford Assisted Living Facility, Chapel Hill, NC.  

In addition to her parents, Prudy was preceded in death by her two brothers, Samuel Harold Chambers Jr. and Keith Gerard Chambers. 

She received her public education from the South Boston-Halifax County school systems. Prudy was loved by many of her classmates. She enjoyed crafts, traveling and loved spending quality time with her family. She especially loved going out to eat at a restaurant. She had such a vivid imagination and when she talked she would put a smile on your face.

Prudy is survived by her sister-in-law, Illora Rankin Chambers, along with a host of beloved cousins, relatives, and friends.  

Special thanks and recognition to her caregivers Ann Furges and  Estelle Jones for all their loving care and support during the most challenging years in Prudy's life.
