Ms. Sandra Yvonne "Diddie" Weaver Erwin was born on October 2, 1943, to Richard Nathaniel Weaver, Sr. and Elsie Baldwin Weaver. She was educated in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro school system and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962. Ms. Erwin, affectionately known as "Diddie" continued her education at Boston School of Business, finishing with a degree in Education. She moved to Los Angeles, California and attended Southwest College and Los Angeles City College. After moving from Los Angeles, she spent some years in Dallas, Texas before moving back to North Carolina. Sandra worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield and UNC Hospitals, where she retired with 26 years of service.
Sandra accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Church of God in Carrboro, NC. She also attended United Pentecostal Church in Durham, NC before joining Five Oaks Seven Day Adventist where she was a member at the time of her passing. Sandra volunteered at Five Oaks Church School and taught summer bible school. She would buy crafts with her own money and every child was given a toy. She also taught them to memorize bible verses which they had to recite every three months. She believed in the children "hiding the WORD in their hearts"!
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents along with her three brothers, Richard Nathaniel Weaver, Jr., William Medlin, James Lawrence Medlin, and her niece, Tamilla Medlin Carpenter.
She is survived by her nephews, Richard Weaver Ill (Ginger), Anthony Medlin, her uncle, Fred Weaver (Sherdenia), and cousins, Richelle P. Watson and Lannie Parrish, and a host of other relatives and friends.
